Subject: U.S. TV program details Raul Salinas bribe money Date: Fri, 21 Jun 1996 16:20:08 PDT

NEW YORK (Reuter) - Raul Salinas, the imprisoned brother of former Mexican President Carlos Salinas, has been linked to 70 bank accounts in seven countries that could contain more than $300 million, the CBS news-magazine ``60 Minutes'' said Friday.

The CBS program, which plans to air a report on Salinas Sunday, said in a release the accounts contain money allegedly obtained through bribes.

CN readers may recall the following footnote, found in CN 7.41:

---------------------------<< Notes >>--------------------------- {1} 60 Minutes, by the way, is about to have Mike "The $150,000 Kid" Wallace do some subtle disinformation on Mexican money laundering allegedly involving Citibank. Watch for Mikey to lay off the huge Mexican money-laundering scandal at the feet of bribery. "Nope, nope," will say Mikey, "Nope, no drug money was laundered. Just bribes. Yep."

Hey Mikey: How much are they payin' you for this one?
