SHERMAN SKOLNICK INTERVIEW -- THE JOLIET CONNECTION

Sherman Skolnick was interviewed on Radio Free America (Shortwave, 5.065 MHz, mon-fri, 9 pm cst) on October 20, 1994. Mr. Skolnick is a veteran investigative reporter from Chicago and founder of the "Citizens' Committee to Clean Up the Courts" in that city. Following is my transcription of that interview. Host/Interviewer is Tom Valentine.

And one of those that was involved in the overall thing was this John E. Gearham who is a close crony -- from Park Ridge (which is a northwest suburb of Chicago) -- a close crony of first lady Hillary. And it is now... His confession, that relates to this, which I took down in the presence of a witness, is now in the federal court record here in Chicago. (None of the newspapers refer to it.) And he said that he is gonna be made a "fall guy" [i.e., offered up as a sacrifice; a scapegoat for others' guilt] for this overall Clinton administration group of scandals. (The only one [newspaper] that went into it big was, by the way, a major German paper in Hamburg, the Hamburg Obleiden(?). I mean, where is the mass media!?)

TOM VALENTINE:
That's a good question.

As you can see, John, this is a bi-partisan corruption.

JOHN

Yes, they're both hooked together, Tom. I agree with you. And I think that's why the media is afraid of it, 'cause it somehow drags Bush into it, along with Clinton.

And Mr. Skolnick, there: I think he's just about ready, if I was to play my cards right, to "go for the jugular" on Clinton before they all get away at the same time, Mr. Skolnick.

VALENTINE

All right, we are back, live. My guest is Sherman Skolnick. And you know, Sherman, I think the important message here -- and it's one that you have brought to me several times -- is that there are indeed some good Americans working for the government.

SKOLNICK

Absolutely.

VALENTINE

And they get frustrated, and then they come to people like you. Remember? They came with the Jesse Jackson thing, that nobody would touch?

SKOLNICK

And the only newspaper in the country that would run it was Spotlight.

VALENTINE

That's right. That's one that, one of these days, we'll have to tell everybody all over again, that story.

SKOLNICK

Before the time runs out, let me put in another important detail.

VALENTINE

Sure.

SKOLNICK

According to what is known, part of the "China White" dope money was washed through Household International, which is headquartered in a northwest suburb of Chicago. People may not know, but Household International is purportedly the successor to the CIA-linked Nugan-Hand Bank of Australia. As to what the Nugan-Hand Bank was like, there's a whole book about it called The Crimes of Patriots, by Jonathon Kwitny(sp?). Household International is the successor to that, so they come into the picture naturally, doing what they are apparently doing.

VALENTINE

In other words, they're a CIA proprietary.

SKOLNICK

Well, they took over as a CIA proprietary, let's put it that way. They took over what was left of the Nugan-Hand Bank. And they're operating in Prospect Heights, which is a northwest suburb [of Chicago].

The point is, notice what's involved here: the former President, George Bush; former Illinois Governor, Jim Thompson; two of their closest cronies who were, themselves, each chief federal prosecutors here. The one that's covering it up is a Bush crony, Mark Prosperi, the head of the organized crime/drug enforcement "task force". The one that was involved as the attorney for the PIC, the Private Industry Council where the records were all burned down, is now the chief judge in Joliet. I mean, we've got judges -- state, federal -- congressmen. At the time they sent Teezak to jail, there was no inquiry made into his worldwide money laundry operation that he ran under the name International Games, Incorporated, Joliet and the Grand Caymans. There was no investigation of the obstruction of the grand jury by the burning down of the building! There was no investigation, as known to the highest level of the government, of the secret bank accounts known to the Treasury [Department] unit and the banks involved in Chicago and south of Chicago and west of Chicago that were involved in "washing" the "China White". And I don't know, I mean, was the drug, is the drug flow to be allowed to come in, simply because the CIA wants to keep track of high level members of the Chinese secret police that are supposedly operating in the United States and in charge...

VALENTINE

Well I don't understand why the CIA's all uptight about that. Congress is gonna bring a whole bunch of 'em over from Hong Kong under the new "crime bill". So why's the CIA care!? [CN -- Valentine has erred here in not differentiating between the Chinese from the People's Republic of China (PRC) and the Hong Kong Chinese. There is a difference between secret agents from PRC and police imported from Hong Kong.]

SKOLNICK

What happened, in 1986 Jim Thompson went to China with all of these same characters -- Teezak and his friends, Edward Masters, who later became the chief judge, and so on. And it was at that point that the "China White" situation was apparently nailed down! And they disguised it as if a major soybean processing plant was gonna be built in the Joliet area for the mainland China. I mean, that was the disguise for Thompson at state tax expense, going to China. But apparently, according to what the Treasury [Department] unit contends, that was the time that they really nailed down the importing of "China White" into this country -- which has been such a great scourge! In fact, there's a new book coming out, by Peter Maas(sp?)...

VALENTINE

Yep. The [unclear]...

SKOLNICK

..."China White"!

VALENTINE

Yep!

SKOLNICK

So that, I mean, they can't say that the top level of the government doesn't know! I've done my part to confront the top level of the government. Other substantial citizens have confronted the top officials of the DEA. And the thing continues, just as we talk! It hasn't stopped!

VALENTINE
